Hi

currently if a seller wants to offer a sale .... mark down tool is good
but It shows as only the sale notification in listings.

I think a buyer should actually know why the sale is going on ....
He should not be left guessing whether its just a marketing ploy or
A genuine sale .

If somewhere there is a provision to give the sale a NAME
like " Anniversary sale " Or " Clearance sale " Or
" India Wins World Cup , So Sale " Or " Independence Day sale "
It will give much effect to the sale and will sound genuine.

I would create Sales campains more frequently if i get the feature
Simply Creating sales like " Friday Sale " OR " End of month Sale ".

What do other sellers think what looks better seeing it from a buyer's point of view ??? check out the image Below :

Changes Visioned For 2008 On Ebay Including Feedback

i hope the announcement is for all sites worldwide .,... right now this is what come from USA.

There are five key elements to the new Feedback system being introduced in the first half of 2008:

Beginning in February, buyers and sellers will be able to earn up to one Feedback per week from the same trading partner. Today, members may only affect each other's Feedback scores one time, regardless of the number of transactions between the parties. This change will both encourage repeat transactions and reward good service.

Sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral Feedback for buyers. This change will occur in May, 2008.

Removal of negative and neutral Feedback left by members who are suspended or who fail to respond to the Unpaid Item Process (UPI).

Positive Feedback percentage will be based on the past 12 months of Feedback, rather than lifetime, since it is most indicative of the seller's recent performance.

Restrictions on when Feedback can be left:
*Buyers must wait three days before leaving negative or neutral Feedback
*Instead of 90 days, members will be able to leave Feedback for 60 days "

That have just topped 100,000 feedback on eBay. From 1st February 2005, just under three years ago, when they opened their eBay ID,
which has over 194,000 unique feedbacks and hit the number 100,000 unique feedback to become one of only a handful of sellers with the red shooting star.

They have also won “Auction Seller of the Year” Recently Last October, in recognition of their achievements on the site.
Most sellers never think ebay can be this big for their businesses.
Just shows how wrong you can be about things!

Speelling Mistekes in titlse

Hi guys ...
its yet not that popular here on ebay india ...
but international buyers mostly buy their items by using search typing what they want in search box .
How spelling mistakes can make a big difference to the auctions is given below.

A lesson for eBay sellers: if you’re selling something rare , make sure you check the spelling on your listing.
One seller recently sold a bottle of beer for $304.
A pretty respectable sum, you might think, until you discover that your winning bidder went on to sell the same item for $503,300.

Item in question is a bottle of Allsopp’s Beer,brewed specially for Sir Edward Belcher’s 1852 expedition to the Arctic.
The original listing spelled it as Allsop's Beer ....
The winning bidder of this item then went on to resell it at a whopping amount just using the right spelling and adding more descriptive description .

One cant help but feel sorry for the original seller :)

मैं कई सारे ईबे इंडिया के सैल्लेरों को जानता हूँ और जिन के साथ अच्छी दोस्ती भी है लगभग सारे ही बहुत हार्ड वर्किंग व एथिकल लोग हैं लेकिन काफी लोगों से एक शिक़ायत हमेशा से है कई बार सुनता हूँ कि लोग १४ - १५ घंटे काम करते हैं कोई छुट्टियाँ नही , ना ही कोई ब्रेक ......मेरा उन लोगों से कहना है कि अगर आप ने ईबे को चुना है तो इसीलिए कि आप को आजादी से काम करने का मौका मिले हो सकता है आप खुश हो रहे हों इतना काम कर के पर मैं ज्यादा काम करने वाले को इनेफ्फिसियेंट मानता हूँअगर आप का मेक्सिमुम समय पैकिंग , लिस्टिंग , मैनेजिंग व डिस्पैचिंग मैं जाता है तो आप के पास देवेलोप्मेंट के लिए वक़्त ही नही है ।

Packing And Postage

Gone are the days when sellers on ebay india could charge excessive postage and shipping costs !

A welcome move by ebay to give a warning message to sellers charging high postage
Its further enhanced by the way ebay promotes items that are ZERO shipping.
Of course 1st thing that comes to mind is that ebay gets a BIT :) more when shipping price
is included in the starting price itself ...

But looking at other side ... its proven that buyers like Clarity and if they are not
thumped with hidden charges later , nothing makes them more happy ...

I without a hitch would recommend sellers to try out including shipping or keep them real low
and see the conversion rates of their items listed shoot up drastically

Feedback System

How Important Is Feedback System For Sellers??

I Have Not Seen In My Association With Ebay Any Other Issue Which Is So Sensitive And How Emotionally It Can Affect A New Seller Or Buyer.

I Know A few Buyers Especially Newly Registered Buyers Who Though Are Satisfied With a Seller " A " And Also Find Value In His Future Offerings , But Still Take A Risk All Over Again And Place Their Next Purchase With Seller " B " Why So ? ?

No Sir ... They Are Not Adventorous But A Simple Reason For This Is ... That If They Place A Repeat Order With Seller " A " , their Feedback Count Does Not Inch Up!!

Now From A Seller's point of View , Isn't That Unfair ??
I Think Ebay Should Do Away With the Rule Of Not Allowing Repeat Purchases To Be Counted In A Person's Feedback .
A Transaction Of 5 Items in Jan May be Considered To Affect The Feedback Only By 1 Point , And not 5 .... But A Repeat Transaction In August Should be Considered As Fresh Entry For Inching up The Feedback By 1 Point .

A Simple Change As Above If Effected ... Following Should Be The Reaction
(1)Sellers Creating Multiple Id's Will Get Reduced To Quite An Extent
(2) SNAD Disputes Shuld Go Down Significantly As Buyers Will Buy From Sellers Who Excel In Everything And Since fresh purchases Will Inch Their Feedback , They Wont Unnecessarily Advennture Out Till They Are Well Versed With The Site
(3) Sales Outside Ebay Will Reduce Significantly
(4) New Buyers Will Not Get Ripped Off And Their Continued Membership Will Extend Many Buyers Often Get Suspended After 4-5 Feedbacks , Which Shows That They Were Serious But Had A Rough Time In Trying To Adventure Out With New Buyers In Lure Of Increasing Their Feedback

Dispute Console

Do many sellers also echo what i feel ?A seller knows very well that most of the time when he uses the Dispute console, its just to Reclaim the fees back .
There is no intent of getting into a dispute with buyer !! ,.Particularly pinching are times when a buyer has informed that he does not intend buying, we initiate the reclaimation proceedure to avail the FEE back THATS ALL
BUT The buyer finds in his emails that we have created a dispute !!!!!! Its High Time now that ebay rephrases the word DISPUTE To something more sugary :)
